Araska is a rock, actually that is a lie, Araska is a fictional rock, in a fictional sea, in a fictional world, the only thing that could be said about is that, if said, world, sea and rock were to exist, then you would have a nice view of a fictional harbour.

Evelyn
Evie is about three weeks old now, and has put back on all her birth weight and then some, she seems like she is growing pretty good so that the NB sized stuff is starting to be smallish, not small yet, but a good fit.

House Jobs Hero
In the spirit of console games with their plastic instruments, if their were a game dedicated to getting stuff done around the house, then what ever its oversized plastic implements are, and what ever gesture is required to enter into the mode when the screen lights on fire, then I more then definitely wielded said plastic implement with expert proficiency, and gestured appropriately to enter the bonus mode.
So this weekend we made this list, it kind of looked like this, I say kind of because it started with a markedly fewer number of check marks, and it also fails to capture coherently the interdependency of the tasks, but here it is in some state that it was in this weekend:
By the time we finished you could add a task or two to that list, and the only left incomplete were the last two the required stores to be open.
So the first one on the list, that due to curing, took the longest was painting Evie's room (still trying to figure how I like spelling that. Evie, aka, Evelyn, aka the baby we are expecting, and that will be here name, not some secret code name. ) I will spare the details about how much the paint cost, but... well... I'm glad one gallon was enough...
So on top of painting, we also hung the curtains Erin's mom made, so here are two pictures, and basically both of them demonstrate that it is impossible to accurately capture colour.

The colour is called Easter Egg, and it is an Easter Egg Hued purple, come see it, it looks great. When we get the chance we are going to put up some vinyl stickers of palm fronds and jungle beasts.
Other big tasks this weekend... Hanging a giant fan, this one required me to actually go find a ladder big enough to get up 13 feet, and then drag the 50 lb fan up there. The fan was a gift from Erin's parents, it was manufactured (I say that, rather then "made" because it is solidly built fan, with a self lubricating grooved axel the raises oil up from the well to spray on to the bearing casings, it is a serious fan) back when men were real men, and the west wasn't tamed. Okay, more like 20 years ago, and still spins silent and efficient as ever. It is the kind of fan that when they say lifetime warranty, they mean the fan will continue to spin in the skeletal remains of your house a millennia from now.
Observe the fan, silent and deadly in its natural habitat:
So as if that wasn't enough, Bob and I also hung the garage door opener:

So those were the highlights, the task list was actually rather long, and the complexity varied, but all (including B) helped. We tackled in one weekend, like three months of jorbs, so woot! I now have some honestly earned aches and pains, and have taken with pride a pain killer, and some milk and cookies (Bryan made them,) and now I'm off to bed.

Anatomical Ultrasound
Erin did the her Anatomical Ultrasound today, this is the one where they go and make sure there are 10 fingers, 10 toes and all the rest of the bits and pieces are where they belong (and they are.)

Ultrasound 2 - IPS Test
Erin had her second ultrasound last week, I will spare you the details, but our unborn child is wiggly and highly uncooperative, so to make it up to Erin I voluntarily watch New Moon, which was predictably terrible. We don't really have a "working name" for this one yet, tossing around Tikki, which is actually the name of the future babies precious stuffed toy (yes this is a memory we can imprint upon young minds, you will love this toy, this toy brings you comfort.) Or Gertie, because we thought the movie Moon was refreshingly classic Sci-fi, but that was a ?homicidal? maybe must pathological robot voiced by Kevin Spacy. So like I said no fixed name yet, not like Bryan, who we called Morgan until he was born.
As for real names, well that is fun to think about and we will tell you when they are born.

In profile looks pretty much like a small human, in motion you could see the little arms and legs flailing about, but at the current setting you can't see them. |

Just touching base
Hey all, just touching base, nothing really exciting, but I felt I should post something. The house was certainly a spike in excitement, but now we can hurry up and wait. We are really excited, but essentially our hands are tied until Mattamy calls us up and tells us its time to start picking stuff. We tried going out to the design center but the cabinet choices aren't available yet, the price lists aren't available yet, and basically they aren't interested in seeing us for a few months. So hurry up and wait...
Around the house we have, we have started looking around and saying "Okay, what do we have to do to sell this place?" And more importantly is it something we can do sooner and enjoy for the 15 months we have left, or should we wait until the last minute. I think the truth is we need to wait until it gets warm enough to throw the windows open, as we have a lot of drywall repair and paint fumes in our future.
We had a family bout of cold/flu last week and we are all recovered, or at least 90%, but it has made this week tough, and last week worse. Mother nature hasn't really helped with heaps of snow and bad train service. Seriously Monday I was almost 2 hours late after what I can deduce as Go Transit literally greasing/icing their own tracks... Thankfullly Mom was able to pick me up from Meadowvale and get me home or I would have been later still.
I've managed to finish all the paperwork with all the various governments to establish myself as someone who may sell apps on the Apple App store, but now I need to get my act in gear and finish my app. It is also at about 90% but that last 10% is killing me. I know there is a memory leak issue, otherwise the functionality is done. I'm on the cusp of releasing a bad app and fixing it once I get customer bug reports, but I feel the heel for doing it. So I will work for 95% and leave customers with only the last 5. I'm motivated to get it done, because the more apps I can sell, the more upgrades I can get in my new place. If it is successful I have a few ideas percolating that I think will do well, and appeal to a broader customer base.
Anyways that is the news, g
